Exploring The Role Of Transformation Intranet Portal In Post-Pandemic Organizational Change At Prudential Indonesia

"This study evaluates the effectiveness of an intranet transformation page in aiding organizational change in a major Indonesian life insurance company dealing with low insurance uptake, regulatory changes, and strategic overhaul needs. Despite the importance of internal communication, the role of intranet portals in supporting change remains unclear. By analyzing managers' perspectives and intranet use for information dissemination, this study aims to determine its impact on understanding, engagement, transparency, goal alignment, and knowledge retention and application.
This qualitative study employed in-depth interviews with organizational members to examine their experiences and perspectives on the Internet. Using Weick's Theory of Organizing, the analysis focuses on enactment, selection, retention, double interaction, sense-making, and equivocality reduction to understand how the intranet page influences managers' perceptions and actions during organizational change.
The intranet transformation page enhances managers' understanding of and engagement in organizational change by facilitating information access and utilization through features, such as search filters, personalized bookmarks, and interactive dashboards. The portal improves shared goal comprehension, knowledge retention, critical thinking, and problem-solving by providing clear and timely information.
This study demonstrates that the intranet reduces ambiguity, ensures clear communication, and aids in the success of the transformation initiative. Technology-driven communication tools and the intranet foster a culture of shared insights and align team efforts with organizational objectives. Future research could explore the long-term effectiveness of intranet portals and compare communication platforms and strategies across various organizations and cultural settings.
