G20 Indonesia Presidency Global Health Architecture Agenda-Setting Through Interdependence Concept
Agenda-setting in international politics has been something that undoubtedly happened in the international organization or forum. This often happens as a result of the national interest of a certain country that still needs to reach its consensus in order to a‹gree upon a certain agenda that is beneficial for the greater good. Group of 20 (often known as G20) is an international economic forum that consists of 19 nations and 1 European Union with the economic power of 85% of world GDP’s. Hence, an agenda setting in this forum will create a huge impact for the political weight it holds as the result of the high level conference will be impactful globally. As one of the largest international forums, G20 itself is often criticized for its exclusiveness towards its own members. In 2022, Indonesia has been the host for the G20 titled “Recover Together, Recover Stronger”. There are 3 priority issues in the G20 Presidency Indonesia including; global health architecture, digital transformation, and sustainable energy transitions. However Indonesia wants to take the critics into action in order to make an inclusive solution one and for all especially in the Global Health Architecture Agenda. Referring to the COVID-19 pandemic, this agenda contains health solutions for everyone from the prevention of the pandemics to the post pandemic economic recovery. Nevertheless, it is permissible to question Indonesia's own interest in this agenda and furthermore research what is the level of interest inside of the Indonesian government itself.
