"Semiotics Analysis on the Representation of Love and Curse in Japanese Animation Film Jujutsu Kaisen 0"




In the world of public relations, a film is a medium to convey information as entertainment or representation of people's lives as outlined in work. Through films, people can discover and absorb new knowledge and insights. Not all anime movie audiences understand the symbolic and semiotic meanings implied in every scene in the film. Many audiences just focusing enjoy the plot without watching it in detail. This research aims to analyze semiotics in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 film like meanings and representations, ranging from denotative meanings and connotations, as well as to identify representations of love and curse in the movie, complete with the myths in it. This study used qualitative methods and semiotics. Semiotics is a research model that pays attention to the sign as representative object. The results of this study showed this movie frequently used the ring object as a representation of the depiction of love in the first scene. The representation also depicted with implied body language and expressions. For the depiction of representation of the curse is depicted in the action where Yuta uses the power of Rika's curse to defeat the enemy and use sacred temple symbols. This research also reveals that myth forms differences in identity and dimensions that make a person unable to be together. This research is applied theoretically and practically to readers and film lovers to understand the meaning and representation contained in the film Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
