One way to help develop business between these two countries is to improve the intercultural competence of their businesspeople. This is crucial to establish clear understanding of the differences and challenges faced by each of these business groups. This qualitative research guided by Hofstede's Cultural Dimension Theory to identify the differences and similarities of these two business groups in shipping industry workplace and Bennet’s Development Model of Intercultural Sensitivity Theory to examine the intercultural competence of each South Korean. The findings of this study relatively shows that South Korea and Indonesia are both included in the large power distance, collectivist, and feminine culture.
