<note>Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) has become the emerging combat sports industries in the recent years. From many athletes, there is one athlete that is considered lifting the whole level for MMA community and recorded as the highest paying athletes of MMA, that is Conor McGregor. The marketability of Conor McGregor is due to how he narrates himself so that he could achieve his stardom. This Research will analyze the narrative that has been used by Conor McGregor through qualitative approach with narrative inquiry methods using Richard Dyer’s Stardom Theory. The data will be collected through published UFC official events (Press Conferences, Interview, and Vlogs) and McGregor’s social media account. Then it will be analyzed through content analysis methods and Aristotle’s rhetoric, then presented using historical basis. The findings of this research are (1) McGregor has 3 main narratives which are Nation’s Pride, Dream Achiever, and Family Man and Loyalty; (2) The narratives itself delivered with good comprehension of Aristotle’s rhetoric and persuasion strategy throughout the statement and gestures that he made; (3) McGregor’s narratives build his stardom, and buy moral licensing for his shenanigans.
