Public Relations Program Planning For Lembaga Perlindungan Anak Indonesia (LPAI) To Change Parent's Behaviour About Sexual Education
In Indonesia, the number of sexual exploitation on children keeps increasing each year. The ignorance of people toward sex education has become one of the causes of sexual exploitation of children. Children should have adequate knowledge about sex since early age.The right time for parents to start the conversation about sex is when they start asking question about it. The 3 -4 years old children have high curiosity and always want to explore. Study proofs that sex education has a positive and life-long effect on the health and well-being. Sex education has influence their expression of sexuality and also their sexual behavior. They are able to confidently face the challenges of sexually better and able to develop stronger and more meaningful relationship. Also, good-quality sexuality education has an impact on positive attitudes and values and can even out the power dynamics in intimate relationships, which will contribute in preventing sexual abuse. This non-thesis shows that in preparing a public relations program, it is necessary to choose the right strategies and tactics based on the problemsthat are happening, begins with in-depth research. In addition, choosing the communication tools will also determine how effective the message conveyed will be received by the target audience. In the context of sexual education, the results of background research provethat there are still many children who are the victims of sexual exploitation. This Indicates that Indonesian parents have not provided their children the right sexual education. Sex education suggested to be given to 3 years oldchildren. Therefore, the right strategy to answer this problem is to provide information directly to the intended target audience. This nonthesis created to find the right and effective public relations program “Anak Xmart, Keluarga Hebat” to communicate the importance of giving sexual education and make parent’s behaviorchanges in order to reduce the number of sexual exploitation on Indonesian children
